Reviewer: Daniel Rodriguez (Mayaguez, Puerto Rico)

I have to say that this is a great book that fills for specific situations of street fighting for short men. Clear concepts and tips that can help people of short stature survive in a street brawl. Recently, I bought this book and in 2 days only, I already finish reading this book. Believe me, this book has more value than the money you use to spend it! Thank you Sammy Franco for thinking in short men!

Reviewer: alexandre ceccato (villeurbanne rhone alpes, France)

It could be certainly the nest book on this subject... but it's the only one! But after studying this one, who need another? Contains: analysis of the problem, training scenarios and even physical training advice. Except if you are Mike Tyson or a pro wrestler, you need to read it!

5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 A Promise Kept
Reviewer: Lee Zarkovacki (Potomac, Maryland)

As its title suggests, this book directly address the all but certain reality of being physically outmatched in a self-defense situation. As the author points out in his introduction, this crucial topic is all but ignored in the world of self-defense, until now. In more than just a simple „how-to‰ guide, Sammy Franco addresses the physical, mental, technical aspects of how to defend yourself against a larger and stronger adversary. Set up in what I thought was a very helpful and readable question and answer format, the book delves into everything from weight lifting and conditioning to a crash course in offensive blows and natural body weapons. As with all material from Contemporary Fighting Arts, this book is an extension of a comprehensive modern martial arts system of combat, but completely self-contained. The author is considerate of the reader who may not own any of his other books or DVDs or posses knowledge or skills pertaining to self-defense. Everything you need to know about this topic is between the front and back covers of this book. This should be on everyone‚s shelf. It delivers what it promises, pure and simple. Highly recommended.

The first and only book for us small guys. I was skeptical about the question and answer style i read in reviews-but its great. You might be thinking but it's a book! Stop wasting time and order. Mr. Franco spells it all out. Mental as well as physical training is covered to overcome fear of fighting larger stronger opponents. Thank you for taking the time to address the issues in this book.

5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Highly Recommended!
Reviewer: Hammad (Germantown, Maryland)

Unlike in boxing, wrestling, or virtually any other combative sport, there are no weight classes on the streets, and there is a very real possibility that you may one day face an opponent who is much larger than stronger than you are. Mr. Franco expertly addresses the issue of fighting a David vs. Goliath battle in his book, The Bigger They Are, The Harder They Fall, outlining the unique characteristics of fighting a larger opponent and describing the skills and attributes you need to come out the victor in such a confrontation. What is unique about this book is it is primary written in a Question and Answer format, which makes reading and digesting the material easier because the information is partitioned in discrete yet related parts and the almost conversational format makes recalling the material much easier. You can't go wrong with this book, 5 stars!

Reviewer: Tomcatgenius (Valdosta, Georgia)

Excellent book on learning to take on opponents who are physically bigger than you. Very down to earth and practical. I think Mr. Franco has a very good grasp on combat, and he obviously practices what he preaches. I feel for the poor sap that decides to attack this man!
