It's common in a fight to be grabbed or to be grabbing so it is therefore worth considering training that improves your reaction time while you are in contact with your opponent. This is my favorite one in the Speed Training set and I feel there is a genuine advantage to be gained here.

Volume 2 of SPEED TRAINING FOR STREET FIGHTING shows great drills that are essential for developing your reflexes. Many martial arts schools do not practice honing tactile reflexes. Anyone involved in martial arts can benefit from this regardless of style. I will definitely be getting the other volumes of Speed Training.

What I loved about this most of all were the exercises and drills that you can start immediately. If you are new to self-defense like I am, the techniques here can be picked up and practiced right out of the box so to speak. After doing them, I also understand how they are essential to conditioning even a veteran street fighter. There is a ton of variety and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in developing faster reaction time in a street fight. This is disk two in a four disk set, but it easily stands alone. However, I would recommend you save yourself some money and buy the entire 4 video set package at a discounted price if your truly interested in self-defense and a complete set of skills.

Real combat is so chaotic and unpredictable that the ability to be able to feel incoming attacks and react with blazing speed is vital to your survival on the streets. In this video, Mr. Franco takes you step by step through the drills that he uses to develop the tactile reflexes of his students. You will see first hand the progression that is made from executing a simple palm to palm drill to ground fighting while blindfolded. This is the most complete material I have ever seen on tactile sensitivity. Purchase this and practice the drills diligently and you will develop the ability to react to the movements of your attacker and counter at will. This is a must have for anyone who is serious about developing one of the most important attributes that a warrior can have.
