A: The unique images on some of our self defense book covers were chosen for several reasons. First, all written works need some sort of cover. Artwork is always more interesting than a plain cover and these colorful images are simply how Sammy Franco chooses to express himself. Some of these images serve as a "personality extension".

Second, these war-like images make a very powerful statement. They are brutal, intense and deadly and are therefore very appropriate for his system of combat.

Third, these images are unique and it visually distinguishes Contemporary Fighting Arts (CFA) from every other martial art and self defense system.

Fourth, many of these distinctive images symbolize the "warrior archetype" that is hidden in every mans psyche. Some of these so called "fantasy images" are also chosen to convey the urgency of survival.

A: Offering a combat certification through the Internet (regardless of the style or system) is like offering a medical degree through the mail. It's absurd and impossible. Sorry, but you cannot become certified in any credible combat system or method solely through a correspondence course. Any company that offers such a program should be avoided. They are only looking to make money! It's really sad how some people will do anything to make a dollar. A: There's nothing wrong with someone studying the "traditional" martial arts for exercise or discipline. However, when a traditional martial arts instructor claims that his system or style will work in a violent street fight against a formidable manic, that's when we draw the line. These instructors are being socially irresponsible. They are clearly putting their students lives at risk by claiming these traditional methods and techniques will function in a volatile street fight against a vicious and well seasoned criminal. As reality based self defense experts (who have experienced real combat), we have a moral obligation to be honest and set the record straight.
